Soul Duster
Artist Statement:
This is my third egg in the Eggstravaganza “Soul Duster” is my interpretation of Picasso’s quote “The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.” I have used acrylic paint, India ink pen work & tools to make it slightly dimensional. Art to me can be anything that speaks to your soul. It could be music, painting, fiber art, cooking, gardening or anything that speaks to you. Whatever it might be, do it with passion and as often as you can. I know that a day without art is an empty day.

About the Artist
Susan Lee
Lee is a self-taught artist whose creative journey has been a lifelong pursuit alongside her career in cardiac and flight nursing. Over the years, she has explored a vast range of mediums, including jewelry-making, fiber art, stained glass, gourd carving, origami, and basket weaving. Each new technique fuels her passion for discovery, making creativity an essential part of her daily life. Her work has been featured in galleries across the country, including in Athens, Georgia; Naperville, Illinois; and The Dovetail in Egg Harbor, Wisconsin. When not hosting her annual trunk show, she takes on commission work, always inspired by the belief that "art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life." Whether traveling with a box of art supplies or creating in her studio, Susan finds fulfillment in the process, allowing art to quiet the noise of the world. A two-time participant in Eggstravaganza, Susan treasures the opportunity to collaborate with fellow artists, pushing creative boundaries and finding inspiration in shared experiences.
