About the Artist
Ken Klopack
Ken Klopack is a Chicago-based artist and educator with over five decades of experience in art education and visual arts. After earning a BA in Art Education from Northeastern Illinois University in 1971 and a Master's in Gifted Education in 1989, Ken taught in Chicago Public Schools for 34 years, receiving numerous accolades, including the prestigious Golden Apple Award and the Kohl International Teaching Award. As a practicing artist, Ken has been deeply involved in the Chicagoland art scene, exhibiting his work at prominent events such as the Gold Coast Art Fair and the Hyde Park Art Fair. His art has also been showcased at the New York Art Expo and Galerie Hamptons in Long Island. In 2007, Ken was invited to participate in Chicago’s COOL GLOBES PROJECT, where his piece, The Intelligent Earth, was displayed along the lakefront and now resides on permanent loan at a Chicago Public School. Ken has also contributed to the art world as a political cartoonist since 1978, with his work featured in publications like Chicago Art Scene 2000. Today, he continues his creative journey as an art education consultant, visual artist, and Chicago Program Student Teacher Supervisor for Miami University, inspiring future generations of artists and educators.
