EGGstravaganza 2014
In 2014, the Public Arts Committee celebrated the Village of Egg Harbor’s 50th anniversary by hosting its inaugural public art event, EGGstravaganza. From mid-May to-August, egg sculptures created by local and regional artists were showcased and auctioned at a gala on August 23, 2014. Fifty percent of each sale went to the artist, while the other half funded the acquisition of public art for the Village's permanent collection.
Following EGGstravaganza 2014, the Village successfully acquired several permanent collection pieces, including “Blue Sail,” “Egg Harbor Meadow,” “Steel Rooster,” and “Sunset Melody.” Additionally, three commissioned eggs, “Living Canopy,” “Stegg,” “Wind in My Sails,” were created for permanent display in front of the Bertschinger Center.
